Great Concert

Rhonda and I saw the Goo's once again Friday night in Columbus. It was a great show. We met up with Christine and Abbie at O'Shaugnessy's Irish Pub by Nationwide Arena. There was a full Irish band at the bar, complete with bagpipes and drums and kilts. It rocked. That was a very "St. Patty's" experience.

Then we headed over to the show. Rhonda got to go inside early and meet the band, while the rest of us froze outside in a huge line. It went pretty fast, though, and soon we were inside and close to the stage.

Rhonda was a little disappointed to not hear her favorites off of "Gutterflower" again, but it was a good show anyways. I even caught the encore pick John Rzeznick threw out at the end of the show. I felt it hit my chest, and then fell on the ground. I scrambled to get it and finally found it.

I think everybody had a great time. I know we sure did. See the link to the photos on Flickr here

Meet & Greet the Goo's

Rhonda just found out today she won the Meet & Greet for the Goo Goo Dolls concert coming up next month in Columbus. We're both pretty excited at the thought of meeting the band. It should be a good time. We'll have fun and try to get some pics again.

Smash the System!

this.Developer Persona

This is based on what Tim Buntel started and Ray Camden posted to his blog yesterday. It's a little "about me":

* 32 years old

* Married for 3 years, has 2 wonderful dogs and working on kids of human kind

* Drives a 1998 Chevy Cavalier -- hoping to get a Pontiac G6 next summer

* Own a small house in a suburb of Kettering. Two bedrooms--one filled with computer and networking stuff which my wife hates

* Secretly a Mac lover, but still uses PC because of all the software I own for it. Hoping to get a Macbook someday soon

* I really have no idea who should win the Oscars this year. Strangely, I liked Little Miss Sunshine

* Really into "The Office", "Survivorman" and "Man vs. Wild". I secretly want to be an outdoor adventure god like the guys on the Discovery Channel

* I love camping, hiking, etc. but don't get to do much of it. Hope to spend more time this summer at my wife's aunt's lake house on Norris Lake in Tennessee and do a little camping, boating and fishing

* Food? Chipotle burritos. Without a doubt

* Music? Love just about everything except hip-hop. I listen to a lot of rock, dance, trance, and pop (check out my "now playing" plugin to the right)

* Loving the concept of Web video. I think it is just starting to see its real potential, and much more good stuff is on the way

* Also addicted to Flickr and web photo galleries. I love seeing what people can do with digital photography

What Did Santa Bring You This Christmas?

OK, I am totally ripping off Ray Camden on this...not trying to be materialistic or anything, but stuff is always cool.

Did anyone get anything cool for Christmas this year? We got a lot of nice things. Mom and dad gave me money, which I used to buy a beautiful Kenneth Cole watch. And, of course, there's the Ferrari F40 remote control car Paul got me! And the Star Wars Lego pens Brenda got me. Thanks, everyone!

Let me know what you folks out there got!

Cleveland Rocks

Rhonda and I just got back from Cleveland, and just in the nick of time. We headed up to the House of Blues (HOB) to see the Goo's again. But, there was a huge snowstorm this morning, and the drive back was ugly.

The concert was awesome. We ended up about 4 rows back from the stage. We were extremely close. Rhonda met up with some of her MySpace friends, and we hung out during the show. We got some great pics--check out Flickr to see all of them.

There was about six inches of snow on the ground and it was practically white-out conditions this morning until we hit Akron. Cleveland just got pummeled with snow, and it was supposed to keep up until tomorrow morning. They were saying another 5-6 inches by tomorrow. It was beautiful, but dangerous. I haven't seen that many cars off the road in a long time. Glad to be safe and sound back at the nice, warm house! Still, I want to head back up that way again, soon. Cleveland is a very cool town, and is bustling and alive--a real "city".

Fearfest '06

This was our first year attending FearFest at King's Island. It was pretty cool to be able to park and get in with our season passes. Of course, despite the cold weather, it was crowded again. It was a beautiful night, and perfect for Halloween activities. We ate a lot of really unhealthy junk food and got to do two attractions--"Cowboy Carnage", which was an old hotel/brothel kind of thing, complete with swinging severed heads. And, we did the "Headless Hollow" train ride which really wasn't a train ride at all. It was completely stupid. It was supposed to be a like Sleepy Hollow, with a headless horseman and what not, instead we rode the train for a minute and were herded back through some stupid trail thing with idiots dressed up like moss men and stuff. Rhonda and I agree that was about the dumbest thing ever. So, we left.

Still, I recommend checking out FearFest before the scare season is gone for another year.

Me and Ricky Bobby

I don't know if you heard...but I'm kind of a big deal. I met Ricky Bobby this weekend!

Vacation in Gatlinburg!

I realized today I am definitely in need of a vacation!

Rhonda and I are heading to Gatlinburg in a few weeks to finish out the summer with one last trip before we both start back to school. It should be a good time. We are renting a 3-bedroom chalet in the heart of the mountains with some friends of ours.

I always love Gatlinburg--the Smokies are just an awesome place to visit. I plan on doing some hiking and getting some really good photos while there. As always, they'll be live on the Flickr feed as soon as I post them.

Here we come, Peddler Steakhouse!
