Main Site Undergoing Redesign

If you're reading this right now, you've either gotten here on purpose or by accident. It's true. The blog has been relocated to a subdirectory under the primary domain. Why did I do this? I am in the process of redesigning the main site from scratch (with the help of StyleShout's templates). Until I get something tested and in place, the main site will not be accessible.

I have big plans for the main site, but it will start out slow. All the functionality won't be rolled out at once. I <em>do</em> have plans to have something online by the first week of May. The site will constantly be evolving and will eventually take over the blog. If you have any suggestions as to what I should have available on the site, please let me know. This is going to be my primary online identity (where I tell everyone to go to learn more about me) with links to all of my social networking, etc.

I'll keep everyone apprised of the site's status, and update all my links to it when it's actually online. I'm not <em>in love</em> with CrystalTech hosting, but they'll do--especially since they are running CF8. I'm keeping the site relatively simple code-wise, without a lot of complex CF code. I'm going to be sure it is as optimized as possible, however.

I've Been Chosen!!

So, two days ago I got an email from CrytalTech, my host, saying they took my blog down because spammers were using trackbacks to hammer the site until it took the entire server down. One entry was getting 4,000+ hits which just crippled the entire site.

I got the issue resolved and turned trackbacks off for this site completely. The site has been up and down it appears, but at least no more trackbacks to kill it. I still need to clean up my database with several thousand rows. I hope to do that tonight or tomorrow.

I'm finally a big boy now! I'm a target of spammers! How exciting is that? Not very.

Blog Issues Resolved

After being hosted on Crystaltech for a few months, I finally fixed the problem with entry links not working properly. I had an epiphany while watching the Trans-Siberian Orchestra in concert. Imagine that!

Or maybe I'm getting smarter in my old age...

Blog Issues

I'm aware there are some issues with the blog. For example, when you click on a blog post title, you will get an 'Error 404 - Not Found' error. I am working on fixing this. It has something to do with SES (Search Engine Safe) URLs and the hosting environment I am on (CrystalTech). I hope to have it fixed this week if I actually get some free time to do so.

I will keep everyone posted.

Blog Moved

 Hi, everyone.

While home sick with the Chicken Pox this week, I've had a lot of time on my hands. So, I decided to move the blog to a more professional hosting environment. The blog is now hosted on Crystaltech.com, instead of my home server. This should increase performance and reliability.

You can now access the site directly with http://www.lsdigitaldesign.com. Please let me know asap if you encounter any problems.

Blog Updated

I had not updated the blog code in a while, so tonight I finally updated to version 5.7.002, which was just released by Ray Camden today. I believe I have all the kinks worked out, but if you come across any weirdness, please email me and let me know.
